How It All Began

I wasn’t always a plant person. In fact, I’ve probably killed more plants than I care to admit, including many “Beginner Friendly” varieties.

Around 5 years ago, I bought a plant on a whim. I somehow managed to keep it alive for quite a while. So, I bought another. And another. I was feeling so
confident that I bought a Fiddle Leaf Fig. (She’s now 6 years old and around 9 feet tall!) After successfully keeping THAT alive, I felt untouchable. Until I was humbled by four Calatheas, that is.

Throughout the early stages of my plant journey, I quickly realized that, in addition to the mental and physical benefits, plants can also be used as décor. I wanted to find a way to complement their natural beauty. And so, with that thought in mind, I got started on creating a look that I wanted throughout my home. In a sense, I wanted elegant-looking plants. And my
hope is that I find other plant parents in search of the same look. Let’s be “Bougie” together!
